Introduction to Prayer Ministry/Inner Healing
Salvation is a Greek term meaning ‘something that leads to wholeness or to be delivered from something that blocks wholeness’ (the person God created you to be and the person Jesus paid the ultimate price for). Unfortunately, most of us are unable to accept totally this gift and the wonderful freedom that is attached to it due to wounding in our formative years. Inner healing under the direction of the Holy Spirit seeks to lovingly expose areas of hurt and pain hidden deep in our hearts that causes us to stumble over and over again. The good news is that once brought into the light, this pain will no longer have any power over us. The Bible exhorts us to co-labour with the Father (see 2 Corinthians 6:1) and not to reject the grace (freedom) that is so freely offered. The cross is the beginning of a wonderful and glorious journey. It was for this freedom that Christ came to set us free. But true freedom is an ongoing process (sanctification). Sometimes the Lord chooses to instantly deliver us from persistent problems. Other times He chooses to walk with us on our healing journey (read more...)
All of us have stumbling points in our lives. The same old chestnuts coming up time and time again! Maybe it’s a problem with a particular personality type or being stuck in a life cycle that we can never overcome. Perhaps it’s relationship problems with people close to us, or simply that decision making for you is well nigh impossible. Maybe you are continually “burnt out”or the need to be perfect at everything isolates you from everyone. Whatever the problem, and no matter how hard you try, you know for certain, just as spring follows winter, that these problems will re-emerge and stop you moving forward yet again!
We would describe the stumbling blocks that you are facing as strongholds. They are held in place by a wrong belief system leading to a defeatist mindset (in the specific area), designed to stop you moving forward into all that God has for you.
At Trelowarren Retreat, we do not promise to wave magic wands. We are all a work in progress. However, through one-on-one ministry sessions with experienced prayer ministers, we can help you expose the roots of these stumbling blocks, re-set your thinking and gain victory over seemingly impossible circumstances because “For God, nothing is impossible”!
So often we struggle with how things are, never really expecting things to change, becoming accustomed to them, treating them as normal. Another trip to Trelowarren Retreat where the unexpected always seems to happen. Arriving early with paint brush in hand and a boot full of tools, ready for the work ahead. Elaine had other ideas however - time with Mike in prayer, delaying as long as I could. The sheet of paper soon filled up with words as the Holy Spirit guided us through the echoes of my past revealing things long forgotten, decisions and vows made by a young, troubled mind. After much targeted prayer guided by Mike's skilled hand leaving no stone unturned, I felt relief and closure on the matter. (read more...)
For years I slept on sofas, never finding comfort in a bed, not at home anyway. It’s funny, while camping or on holiday I was fine, but at home I would bring up sick that burnt my throat even in my sleep, indigestion, heartburn, or I would have severe pain in my kidneys forcing me to sleep on my reclining chair downstairs. This became my bed for the last ten years; I have lived like this, not bothering to try the bed for so many years now, my wife and I blaming the bed, changing mattresses to no avail.
On coming home I was determined to sleep in the bed, but, not really expecting much to have changed, I awoke having slept all night to the words “You slept like a baby last night” from my wife. The next night I fell asleep on my chair while watching TV, only to wake up at eleven to take my tablet. Feeling unable to settle down on my chair, I climbed into bed next to my wife, to awake again to my wife telling me it’s time for work. Nine days now and I can’t settle downstairs, it’s up to bed every night.
I might have accepted this as normal but my Heavenly Father didn’t. I am grateful to Elaine and Mike Clark who are very dear to me, for their selflessness and genuine love they lavish onto me. I know that it is all glory to God and it was his hand that healed me, but when Jesus came he brought the kingdom of God down to us – if he had sat at home glorying in who he was, the cross would never have happened. He went out and fulfilled his calling. I am glad that Mike & Elaine are walking in their calling.
